Laser welding is the process of irradiating a high-intensity laser beam onto the surface of a metal, and through the interaction between the laser and the metal, melting the metal to form a weld.

In the interaction process between laser and metal, metal melting is only one physical phenomenon. Sometimes, energy is not primarily converted into metal melting, but manifests in other forms such as vaporization, plasma formation, etc.

However, to achieve good fusion welding, it is necessary to make metal melting the main form of energy conversion.

To achieve this, it is necessary to understand the various physical phenomena generated in the interaction between laser and metal, as well as the relationship between these physical phenomena and laser parameters. By controlling the laser parameters, the vast majority of laser energy can be converted into energy for metal melting, thus achieving the purpose of welding.
